At Subaru of Wichita the key to our success has been due in large part to our Team of People and the Processes we have created as that team. Most of our co-workers come from outside of the Car Business, generally from some form of Customer Service Background. You won't find the typical gold-chain or plaid-suit wearing salespeople here. We hire nice, friendly, and smart people who genuinely care about providing an amazing experience for our customers. We feel we have assembled the best Team of People anywhere in the country.
Scott is the President and Operating Partner of Subaru of Wichita. Scott has been involved in the automotive business for the past 24+ years and works with auto dealers, small groups and schools, encouraging them to run their businesses according to the Golden Rule. Regularly profiled by the local and national press, The Wichita Eagle referred to Scott's success with Suzuki of Wichita (America's #1 Suzuki Auto Dealership for 5 years in a row, 2009-2013) as "wizardry," and his methods are frequently discussed by top industry publications like Automotive News and Auto Dealer Monthly.
Over the past 15 years, Tom White Jr. has built a reputation as a savvy and hard charging retail automotive executive. He has worked in virtually every department in a Dealership although not handy enough to work as a technician. Tom regularly consults with Dealers all over the country on a variety of topics including General Management, Sales Management, Internet Lead Generation, Social Media and the Social Web, Dealership Reputation Management, Website Marketing and Optimization, and Legal Compliance. He is also a regular contributor at many of the top automotive conferences and twenty group meetings.
As the General Manager for Suzuki of Wichita, Tom helped lead the team to five consecutive years at the #1 selling spot in America. The Suzuki of Wichita website www.RideHomeHappy.com was recognized as one of the Top 5 Best Dealership Websites for 2010 by Auto Dealer Monthly magazine.
In addition to his role as GM of Subaru of Wichita, Tom serves as the Operating Partner of AutoApproved.com, an Internet Lead Generation and Website Design company also based in Wichita, KS.
Prior to the Car Business Tom worked in the Food Service Industry in a variety of functions both front of the house and back of the house. He was once the "Rat" at Chuck E Cheese before an angry little boy ended his mascot career with a punch to the groin. His self proclaimed title of Super Genius and Mastermind of Possibilities was borrowed from Wile E Coyote who Tom counts as one of his inspirations - "He'd fall off 10,000 foot cliffs and get right back up again," White says. "That tenaciousness, I think it's admirable."
Dusty Rhodes, better known as "the American Dream," specializes in identifying the components needed to transform ideas into reality. A veteran of the business, Dusty's incomparable enthusiasm and approachability make him a natural leader, and he's a constant source of encouragement for the whole team.
Marc Lee has been in the car business his entire life. Literally. He started going to the auctions with his father when he was 5 years old, and hasn't stopped since.
In the car business since he was 15, Tim brings a world of experience to his position. You could say business runs in his blood. His uncles, Frank and Dan Carney, founded Pizza Hut, and his dad was a franchisee. He learned a lot about managing a business and managing people when he went with his dad to visit Pizza Hut locations around the state.
A WSU graduate, Tim exercises a management style that empowers the people he works with to let their best skills shine. He's never one to brag, so his coworkers have to do it for him--he's a joy to be around.
Tim is a proud husband and father of six children ranging in age from 8 to 19. His family supports the Wichita East volleyball and baseball programs, and he helps out at Walking in the Reign, an organization offering assistance to Balan, Haiti, and the Lady Bugg House, which is a home for unwed pregnant teens.

If you ask everyone you know, "What is the one best thing about your work?" Then you took all of those things and put them together...you would have Subaru of Wichita.

Here's a little about me: I have always had a love affair with the automobile. Being at Subaru of Wichita in the New Car environment allows me to indulge that passion, all the while changing people's lives. I am a veteran of the car business since 1997, working in large part with the same group of guys that you will find here at Subaru of Wichita.
I work here because: I love the product, I love the atmosphere, and I love my fellow co-workers. There really isn't any other dealership that I could see myself working for in the City of Wichita.
How did you get the Nickname "Diggs"?: It all goes back to high school. I was the first in my peer group whose voice changed. One of my best friend's father told me it sounded like I had a frog in my throat. Kids being cruel (like we all were in high school) decided to start calling me "Diggum Smacks." Somehow the name stuck, and evolved. First it was "Diggums," then it was "Smacks," then "Smizzacks," and later, "Diggs." My current take on Diggum Smacks is "Diggatron," which I put in place after the year 2000, when I decided it sounded a little more futuristic.
Why I Work Here:
I work at Subaru of Wichita because it is hands down, the best dealership in the world. The leadership of Scott, combined with the amazing management of The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes, and THE Tom White, Jr, makes this dealership down right magical. The amazing opportunities we present our customers along with the enjoyment from working with such a wonderful staff is too much to pass up.
About Me:
I am happily married with 2 wonderful children. When you come visit, I'll be sure to introduce you to our unofficial mascot, my son. He knows everyone here and loves this place. I am, generally speaking, the nerdiest person in the dealership. Though some try to give me a hard time, my quick Science Fiction knowledge, combined with my Lightsaber make me nigh invincible.
Why I Work Here:
I work at Subaru of Wichita because of the people are great, the environment is fun, and making a difference in people's lives is unbeatable. The Kaizen culture that Scott Pitman developed is a guide on how to not only conduct business, but also a way to live a life of fulfillment. There is no place like Subaru of Wichita. I promise.
About Me:
I am Senior Assistant to "The Krause". Most of my time involves finding ways to do what it takes to arrange life changing, mind blowing, earth shattering finance options for the customers of Subaru of Wichita. My goal is to make a difference in the lives of our customers and co-workers in order to develop meaningful life-long relationships.
As the Office Manager, Sheryl oversees the finer points of car deal paper work, sales tax, and is always available to answer questions and help others. She's been working with Scott for the last 13 years, and is excited to continue this journey into the Subaru zone!
Stephen has been with the Ride Home Happy Team since May 2011. His favorite aspect of the Service Manager role is the opportunity to develop real relationships with our customers over time. "We don't have a big-shot mentality here," Stephen said. "We learn our customers' names in the service department, but more importantly, we remember them." As a true lover of cars, Stephen likes to see the immense variety of vehicles that drive onto the service lane, as well.
As a 21-year veteran of the car business, Brandon brings an incredible depth of knowledge to his role as Parts Manager. He enjoys working with customers, and values the opportunity to build lasting relationships with people over time.
